Timothy Burns, Partner
Tim's career as a senior Human Resources executive, a coach of executives, and a consultant to organizations spans both line and staff positions in three different industries and a leading HR consulting
firm. He served on the management team with a multi-national manufacturing and engineering corporation; in banking and financial services he held several key Human Resources positions and also served
as SVP Marketing and SVP Administration. Tim has lived and worked abroad in both Europe and Asia.
Tim served for twenty years as a Senior Vice President of Citicorp/Citibank in Chicago, most recently as Senior Human Resources Director for the 500 Citibank branches in the U.S. and their 13,000 employees.
He played a key role in many acquisitions and mergers. Earlier in his career Tim was with Sybron Corporation, both at their headquarters in Rochester, N.Y. and as head of Industrial Relations for three
Divisions in New Jersey. Prior to Sybron, he was with United Airlines in Chicago where he held positions in employment and as a generalist in Human Resources.
Tim holds a B.S. degree from Canisius College in New York. His MBA studies were conducted at Loyola University of Chicago and Farleigh Dickinson University. He earned his MA degree in Counseling Psychology
from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. Tim served in the U.S. Army for five years and attained the rank of Captain.
He is active in the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago, having served as President and as a Board Member for six years. He has been a Board Member of the Mental Health Association of Greater
Chicago, and the Chicago chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. The Human Resource Accreditation Institute accredits him as a Senior Professional in H.R. Tim served on the Village Board
of Long Grove as an elected Trustee.
